Cl. 11. Patients are forbidden to offer any gift, compensation or fee to any nurse or employee.
Cl. 12. Patients will be held responsible for any improper use of the lavatories, closets, or bathrooms, and are expected to be clean in their habits and orderly in their conduct. Any gross violation of this rule will subject the offender to dismissal.
Cl. 13. Complaints of ill treatment by a nurse or any irregularity of diet may be made by any patient to the Directress of Nurses, Superintendent or any member of the Board of Governors.
Cl. 14. No patient shall be discharged except for the violation of the foregoing rules without the consent of the Interne and Visiting Physician, their signatures to be affixed to the discharge before the Superintendent grants permission to leave.
Cl. 15. In case of any violation of these rules, the patient so offending shall be immediately reported by the nurse, and he or she may be discharged (if his or her physical condition will permit) upon recommendation of the Visiting Physician or Surgeon, approved by the Superintendent of the Hospital.
Cl. 16. Visits of attending physicians and surgeons should be made between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30 a. m. and 3:30 and 4:30 p. m.
Cl. 17. Hours for operative work involving the use of the operating room, except in emergency cases, should be confined to the hours between 10 a. m. and 3 p. m.
Cl. 18. Except in strictly emergency cases, 24 hours notice of operation with memorandum of surgical dressings, etc., required for the operation shall be furnished to the Superintendent. Emergency operations shall take precedence of all claims upon the operating room.
Cl. 19. No patient shall be admitted to the operating room for operation or examination until after a thorough aseptic toilet and inspection by the Directress of Nurses.
Cl. 20. The operating room shall not be used on Sunday except in strictly emergency cases.
Cl. 21. No member of the Visiting Staff, except in emergency cases, shall be allowed the use of the operating room for more than two successive operations, should other members desire its use.
