Cl. 8. When a patient entered in the medical service develops any affection demanding surgical interference, he or she shall be immediately transferred to the care of the attending surgeon; and, vice versa, a patient on the surgical side demanding only medical treatment shall be transferred to the attending physician.
ARTICLE XXV.—House Rules.
Clause l. All patients admitted to the Hospital will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of the wards and orders of the house in general, so far as they are concerned.
Cl. 2. Loud talking and unnecessary noise in the halls and corridors are strictly forbidden.
Cl. 3. The use of profane and indecent language, the expression of immoral sentiment, etc., are offences for which a patient is liable to forfeit his place in the Hospital.
Cl. 4. No smoking shall be allowed in any part of the Hospital, except in the rooms of the private patients, and in the private rooms of the Superintendent, Physicians and Surgeons, when such officials are off duty.
Cl. 5. No male patient shall enter any ward set aside for female patients, nor shall any female patient enter any ward for males; no patient shall visit a ward other than his own, except by permission of the Superintendent.
Cl. 6. No patient shall enter the dead house, laundries, engine room, kitchen, or attendants’ rooms, or loiter in the halls, about the stairways, or in the lavatories. Patients may go on the lawn by permission of the Interne.
Cl. 7. Patients are not permitted to purchase any articles or to request any attendant to make such purchase for them, without permission of the Superintendent.
Cl. 8. Liquors and extra diet must be given only by the nurse in charge.
Cl. 9. Loud talking across the wards or halls, whistling or noise of any kind is strictly forbidden.
Cl. 10. Patients will not be allowed to show visitors through the Hospital.
