Cl. 4. They shall have the general direction and management of the Training School for Nurses, and make such rules as they may think necessary for the government of the same, subject to the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, to whom they shall make reports when required.

ARTICLE XVI.—The Inspection Committee.

Clause 1. An Inspection Committee shall be appointed for each month in the year, to serve one month, and shall consist of two members of the Board, not members of the Executive Committee.

Cl. 2. They shall visit every department of the institution at least twice during each month. They shall inquire into the conduct of the officers and employes [sic], the quality of food and medicines furnished. They shall examine into the cleanliness and order of all parts of the Hospital and grounds.

Cl. 3. They shall keep in the office of the Superintendent a book of minutes, and enter therein at the time of each visit their proceedings and observations, and any suggestions for the betterment of the conditions of the Hospital, which book shall be laid before the Executive Committee at its regular meetings.

ARTICLE XVII.—Superintendent.

Clause 1. The Superintendent shall be elected by the Board of Governors at the annual meeting, and shall be their executive officer and responsible to them for the order of the house. He shall see that their regulations and directions are promptly and efficiently carried out, and for that purpose shall have general charge of the Hospital and its belongings. He shall see that all admissions and discharges are made in accordance with the rules.

Cl. 2. He shall finally countersign all cards for the discharge of patients before they are permitted to leave the Hospital. These must have first, been signed by the member of the Visiting Staff attending the patient.

Cl. 3. He shall have power to engage and dismiss any of the employes [sic] of the Hospital, except nurses and those who are appointed by the Board of Governors; it shall be his
