Tennessee Medical College

The preliminary term of lectures began at Tennessee Medical college on Monday last.  The prospects for a large class are very flattering.  Efforts will soon be made to begin the erection of a hospital adjoining the college.  Such an institution is much needed to afford clinical facilities for teaching.  For the present the free dispensary will be conducted with daily clinics, where all forms of disease and injuries will be treated free of charge.  The clinics are held daily from 12 to 1 o’clock p.m.

The Formal Opening.  Dr. Ristine To Talk to the Students and the Public

The formal opening of the session of lectures at the Tennessee Medical college for the course of 1891-92 will occur next Thursday afternoon at five o’clock, when the Prof. C. E. Ristine, M. D., will deliver a popular lecture suitable for the public.  Dr. Ristine is a pleasing speaker and will give an interesting lecture to which the college cordially invites the public.  From four o’clock until five the new college building at the corner of Cleveland street and Dameron avenue will be thrown open and a public inspection and reception will be held.  Members of the faculty will be present and gladly show visitors all parts of the new college building.  The medical profession and the general public, both ladies and gentlemen of Knoxville will be gladly received.  Dr. Ristine’s lecture will be upon a subject of interest to the public and will be of short duration.

Tennessee Medical College

From four to five o’clock this afternoon the faculty of the Tennessee Medical college will entertain the general public at the handsome college building in North Knoxville, the occasion being the formal third annual opening of this constantly growing institution.  The public, and especially the ladies, are invited to attend.  Commencing at five o’clock Dr. C. E. Ristine will deliver an address alike of interest to the students and the public.
