TMC’s Fall Term, 1895, Begins
Tennessee Medical College. Fall Term Begins with the most Flattering Prospects
The Tennessee Medical college started out on a new year this week under the most flattering auspices. There were eighteen more students than usual to confront the dean emeritus, Dr. Cawood, as he opened the term with his usual annual opening address. The faculty members were all present and feel very enthusiastic and the institution is now under full swing.
From the present reports the college will have 135 students enrolled within a few weeks. The full attendance is not usually complete until the first of November. Considering the little home encouragement received by the institution it has progressed remarkably well both in standard and in number of students attending. It is an institution Knoxville may be proud of for its pluck and independent push and it has come to stay.
