Riverside Nurses Receive Diplomas (1921)
Graduation exercises of the 1921 class of the Riverside Hospital Nurses Training School were held at the Lyceum building last night in the presence of a large umber of friends and relatives of the young ladies. The graduates were Misses Virginia Craft, Lucina Reep, Hattie Harper, Anna Helm and Laura Belcher.
The platform was banked high with dozens of bouquets which had been sent the graduates. After an introduction by Dr. A. G. Kern, who presided, the Rev Dr. S. M. Glasgow delivered the invocation and then made a brief address to the graduates and the nurses in training who were present, calling attention to the high standard of their profession. Dr. Herbert Acuff made an impressive address to the class on behalf of the staff, and the diplomas were presented by Dr. V. D. Hollowiy [sic] with an individual word of commendation to each recipient. Miss Reep read a clever class prophecy.
During the program, Mrs. E. R. Zemp and Mrs. Herbert Acuff charmingly rendered vocal solos.
Following the exercises, refreshments were served and dancing was enjoyed until a late hour.
