Ruth Faulkner Grubbs, age 89, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was a member of the Church of The Savior. Ruth was a registered nurse graduate of Knoxville General Hospital. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital. Ruth enjoyed writing and published poetry and short stories, and she loved gospel music. Ruth enjoyed an active life and loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Miller, father, Roscoe Faulkner, sister, June Anderson, and brother, Jack Sebring. She is survived by her life partner, Barbara Caudle; son, James A Grubbs, Jr, and wife Donna; daughter, Donna Armstrong and husband Ray; brother, Jerry Faulkner and wife Dee; sister, Joanne Reed and husband Tom, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 pm Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 am Friday, January 14, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 11:00 am graveside service. The family request mask and social distancing be observed.
