Mary Jane “Jeane” Stewart Boehm, 88, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 20, 2013. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with the Rev. Corky Holland, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Jeane was born in Pennington Gap, Va. She graduated from University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree as a registered nurse. For several years she worked as an RN at Benham Hospital in Benham, Ky. She married Lucien Charles Lou Boehm on April 20, 1946, in Kentucky. He preceded her in death. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lynch, Ky., where she taught Sunbeams and Sunday school classes. The family moved to Amarillo in 1955, and in 1957, she became a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo, it remained her church family until her passing. After moving to Amarillo, she devoted her time to her family, was an active member of the Republican party of Texas and enjoyed gardening and baking. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Farmer and James Henry Stewart; two brothers, James Henry Stewart Jr. and Charles Jackson Stewart; and two half-brothers, Jacky Bo and Bobby Ray Verses. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy L. Boehm of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Stacey Weatherman and husband Brian of Snider and Monica Gawelko of Waco; and three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Rebekah and Noah Campbell, all of Snider.
