Juanita Emery Price

Price, Juanita Emery – age 82 of Knoxville passed away Friday, February 22, 2013. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of nine and loved and served Him until her death. She attended Knoxville First Church of the Nazarene. She was a pianist from the age of nine until her death with the Hinton Street Mission, Knoxville First Church of the Nazarene and other churches throughout the Knoxville area. She taught Sunday School for beginners through teens. Retired registered nurse-trained at Knoxville General Hospital. Worked for Knoxville General Hospital, UT Medical Center and the Knox County Health Department. During her tenure at UT Medical Center she was on the surgical team that performed the first open heart surgery in Knoxville. Preceded in death by husband, Richard H. Price; parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Emery; brothers, Archie and Merle Emery (Judy). Survived by sons, Richard Price (Loretta), Perry Price (Connie); sister, Faye Benjamin (Carl); sister-in-laws, Ana Jewell Dietsche, Pauline Emery, Jane Price and Patsy Eken; extended step-family, Juanita Boring, Patty Black; grandchildren, Kim Price, Amanda Brown (Bobby), Jonathan Price (Rebekah), Sarah Price; great grandchildren, Alex, Maggie, Macy Claire, Gaven Eli and Courtney; loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 7:30 PM Monday, February 25, 2013, at Bridges Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Shelton officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 11:00 AM interment. Pallbearers: Jonathan Price, Bobby Brown, Chris Benjamin, Mike Emery, Rick Emery and Randy Thornhill.
