Hospital Building and Promoting Board Applies for Charter (1896)
Soon To Be Incorporated. Ladies of Hospital Board Applied for a Charter Yesterday
The ladies of the hospital board have applied for a charter, as was decided to do sometime ago. The chartered organization is to be the “Hospital Building and Promoting Board” and will be composed of the members of the present board, and all others who may become interested in the work. The ladies applying for the charter are Mesdames Jennie V. Ashmore, Lucy M. McCoy, Mamie L. Jones, Frances P. Roberts, M. McC. Luttrell, Mary A. Bayless, Fleda R. McWilliams, Cornelia Ross, Lucy C. Finegan, Minnie O. Houk, Caroline S. Frazee, Isabel D. Roney and Miss Pauline Woodruff.
This action of the board places the organization on a firm business basis and thereby greatly facilitates the work in which the ladies are engaged. With the assistance which they are destined to receive from the secret orders of the city and others, the ladies will doubtless be most successful in their beneficent undertaking.
