German and Cotillion Clubs’ Fund-raiser for Hospital in 1896
For the Hospital. Society Young People Will Give a Boat Excursion
The hospital movement is increasing in favor each day, and additional interest is being manifested and new help being proffered constantly. The lastest [sic] benefit movement is the proposed boat excursion Friday night to be given by a society contingent largely composed by the young gentlemen of the German and Cotillion clubs, and their friends. There will be entertainment in the way of music and dancing on board and also refreshments in abundance. There will be no other charge than the trip ticket for anything. It will be a very swell affair and a large number of people will go. The net proceeds which it is hoped will amount to considerable, will be given to the hospital.
