Barbara Baldock Pringle, Class of 1945
Barbara Baldock Pringle, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Robert Alexander Pringle, Sr., M.D. died Thursday, July 6, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 in the Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1885 Rifle Range Road at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private family burial in St. Philip’s Churchyard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Franke. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Barbara was born March 30, 1924, in Knoxville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Harold Franklin and the late Sofia Henderson Baldock. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1942 and from Knoxville General Hospital in 1945 with an RN degree in Nursing. Barbara was a member of the Park Circle Garden Club and St. Philip’s Altar Guild, and she served on the Board of Directors for the Charleston YWCA from 1966-1972. She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and an associate member of the French Huguenot Protestant Church.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Robert A. Pringle, Jr. and his wife, Sheila; two daughters, Barbara Pringle Claypoole and her husband, Stanley, and Anne Pringle Graham and her husband, John; six grandchildren, Jay S. Claypoole (Danica), Pringle C. Jackson (Kennith), Hannah P. Wall (Richard), R. Alex Pringle, (Marcela), E. Christian Graham (Charissa) and Anne G. Duddy (Phil); seven great grandchildren: Lilly M. Claypoole, Jesse D. Claypoole, Alden F. Jackson and Frances P. Jackson, Leah and Seamus Graham, and Esther Anne Duddy; and her sister Jane Baldock O’Connor.
