JACKSON, ROSALIE MARIAH HENRY – born June 30, 1932 went to be with the Lord January 23, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by mother Bertha E. Cox and father John F. Henry. She was a graduate of the first black class of LPN’s at Knoxville General Hospital and nursed at University of Tennessee Hospital for over 20 years. She also nursed at Knoxville College and Virginia Intermont and worked as supervisor at Serene Manor Nursing Home. Rosalie was one of the most caring and compassionate nurses and mothers, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by daughters Beverly and Lisa Long and granddaughter Veronica Simms. Graveside service will be held Tuesday January 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Louisville Hilltop Cemetery in Louisville, TN.
