Nurses Given Diplomas
Miss Mary E. Wolfe and Miss Desma L. Cantrell Graduate at Knoxville General
Having completed the three year course at the Knoxville General hospital training school for nurses, Misses Mary Elizabeth Wolfe and Desma L. Cantrell graduated Saturday and were presented with their diplomas.
Misses Wolfe and Cantrell were among the senior nurses who remained at their posts during the “nurses’ strike” Christmas week, frequently continuing on duty for periods of more than 16 hours in order that the hospital might continue in operation and the patients not be neglected.
Several other senior nurses will complete the course of training and graduate in about six months.
