ARTICLE XXIII.—Private Patients.
The charitable work of the Hospital is done in the wards. Private rooms, intended to replace the comforts and conveniences of home, and a limited number of ward beds, have been set apart for paying patients in need of hospital accommodations. For the regulation of this department the following rules have been provided:

Cl. 3. The Executive Committee shall determine the price per day, week or month to be charged for private patients.
Cl. 4. Upon payment of the fixed charges for the room or ward bed occupied, private patients are entitled to board and nursing, and such diet as may be ordered by the physician in charge, within the diet list prescribed by the Consulting and Visiting Staff.

Cl. 6. The price of the room includes the regular services of the Resident Staff and one nurse for five patients. If more attention is required either by order of the Visiting Physician or Surgeon, or to satisfy the demands of the patient or relatives, there will be an extra charge of $2.00 for every twenty-four hours.
Cl. 7. All private patients resident in the city shall pay weekly in advance. Non-residents shall pay two weeks in advance. Physicians and surgeons must invariably notify their patients of this rule before bringing them to the Hospital.
Cl. 8. Should the patient leave the Hospital before the expiration of time for which advance payment is made, charges
