Cl. 12. He shall visit every ward as often as necessary, to insure the proper discharge of the duties devolving upon his subordinates, and shall, previous to retiring for the night, visit every ward to see that the nurses are at their posts, the patients properly attended to, and the lights and fires in proper condition.
Cl. 13. He shall not absent himself from the Hospital for more than five hours at any one time, without permission from the President of the Board of Governors, and then only when he has made proper provisions for the services required in his department.
Cl. 14. He shall see that the Hospital is properly warmed, and give particular attention to its cleanliness.
Cl. 15. He shall not permit any person, excepting such of the officers and servants of the Hospital enumerated in these regulations as are entitled thereto, and the members of his own family, to board or lodge in the Hospital, or to occupy any part of the premises, without express permission of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, and he shall submit to the Executive Committee, when required, a list of all persons employed in or upon the premises, and their wages, and the name of every person residing in the Hospital.
Cl. 16. He shall keep the wines and spirits purchased by the Hospital to be used by the patients. All requisitions for wines or liquors shall be made in writing by the Interne, the name of the patient for whom it is to be used being designated. These requisitions shall be kept on file by the Superintendent.
Cl. 17. On November 30th of each year, he shall furnish the Executive Committee with an inventory of all movable articles in the Hospital.
Cl. 18. He shall promptly report to the President of the Board of Governors or Executive Committee any dereliction of duty on the part of any officer in any department of the Hospital, or on the part of its employes [sic].
Cl. 19. He shall strictly enforce the rules regarding the admission of visitors to patients.
Cl. 20. The cleanliness of the grounds surrounding the Hospital, as well as the building, shall be strictly under the charge of the Superintendent, who shall be responsible to the Board of Governors.
